Pure white blooms emerge in early summer from the dark, purple-black foliage of this unique crape myrtle. Use it as specimen tree, a screen or informal hedge, or as a background to other shrubs and flowers.
Fertilize at least every spring and summer with an all-purpose blend like our Kerby's Special 8-4-8. And contrary to popular belief, crapes do not require much pruning. You can conduct light prunes whenever, such as expired or poorly placed branches. And prune spent flowers clusters (between the bloom and the next leaves) to encourage a second or even third round of flowers. But save hard prunes for end of winter and never drastically cut back all the branches, this is known as crape murder and can shock your plant.
